I love quilting books! I can never have enough of them--just like fabric! Every time I purchase a new book, I spend lots of time just looking at the pictures. I'm always finding a quilting project in them to add to my very long list. This one, Fantasies & Flowers by Kumiko Sudo is no exception. Kumiko creates 30 beautiful origami flowers and appliqués them to a quilting block. They can be made into individual blocks or incorporated into a quilt. My thoughts are to find 12 of my favorite flowers and make a quilt or maybe just 9 since the blocks are 15"x15". Wouldn't batiks be pretty?
This book came out in 2000. I bought it used through Amazon. Isn't it amazing how quilting books never go out of "style"? There is a great deal of inspiration to be had by these older books. I did a search on Google looking for examples of quilts made from this book but I was unable to find any. Have any of you made a quilt out of this book? If so, I would love to see it.
And, Let Your Imagination Bloom!
