Stitching Lap Pillow

What's Blooming Today?
I must confess, I've been taking a bit of a vacation from social media and spending more time stitching. And, I have several projects to show for it. One of them is this Lap Stitching Pillow. If you like to work on your projects while watching movies like me, this pillow comes in handy. It sits in your lap and you can rest your hands on it while you do embroidery or other types of stitchery. Or, I have found it useful when I'm cutting out my appliqué pieces.
Even though I have been using it, this one isn't quit finished. I still need to stitch up the opening used for stuffing it. I've been debating on putting more stuffing in it or just leaving it alone. I used cotton batting, which I love. But, it makes the pillow heavier than polyester filling and I can't seem to keep it in the points and corners--maybe I just need more. I'm thinking about taking out the cotton batting and putting in polyester batting but, I'm not sure if I want to spend that amount of time and if it will really make a difference. It is amazing how time consuming it is to stuff and how much stuffing it takes!
The two main fabrics I used are from Jennifer Heynen's Tussie Mussie collection. The buttons are also designed by Jennifer Heynen. They are a perfect match to her fabric! I found the link for the
pattern and tutorial by Claire at Matching Pegs on Piece O' Cake's
Blog. Piece O' Cake has a great picture of someone using it. The pillow also goes by the name Star Fruit Cushion.
And, Let Your Imagination Bloom!
